Students in Adventures, C++ Programming, and Statistics are required to complete the Login Process on this web site each day they attend class. APCS students have a different procedure, see below. The process involves completing the login form and closing all windows when instructed. Each successfully completed login process is worth five points per day. Login submission results should be saved. To receive the five points the login must occur within the first five minutes of class and before doing anything else. Visiting another web site before logging in will result in losing the five points. Checking your email or opening the compiler before logging in will result in losing the five points.
Failing to close windows after being instructed to do so will also lose the five point login. Often the class will be instructed to close all windows. I do this when I speak to the class and occurs at the start of class. I consider this part of the login process.
An absent student can still get five points for the login process by submitting an absent login upon returning from the absence. This does NOT matter if the the absence is excused or unexcused. The absent login link is located on the login page. Absent logins must be submitted by the end of class on the first day back. Absent logins can be submitted from home or any other computer during the absence.
APCS students will NOT login on any computers in C4 or on the brentwoodhigh.com site unless told to do so. The upper left hand the of the board will have the word "Login" written if APCS students are to login in on the local computer and on the brentwoodhigh site and everything above this section applies. This is the APCS login process. If a student logins on the local computer and the "Login" is not written on the board, the student will lose the points for the login process.
